People & Development Team Manager

Our client, the UK's leading provider of nationwide refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning services, has a fantastic opportunity for a People & Development Team Manager to join their team!
The role:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the People function, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, employee experience and management development
- Be the System Administrator for the People system, Cascade
- Manage and mentor a team of professionals focused on Employee Relations and Recruitment, and Management Development, providing management and direction to the department, setting and reviewing clear objectives
- Provide support and guidance to team members in their day-to-day operations, offering operational input and direction for improving processes
- Conduct regular performance reviews, set team goals and promote professional development opportunities
- Continuously looking to improve the quality, performance and inter-departmental working of the business
- Develop, document and implement processes to support operational excellence
- Lead, manage, coach and mentor to develop a high performing team, supporting and unlocking individual and collective potential
- Oversee and guide the team in managing employee relations cases, ensuring timely resolution of workplace conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary actions
- Ensure that all ER processes are compliant with relevant legislation and internal policies
- Act as a point of escalation for complex employee relations issues.
- Support the Recruitment Coordinator to develop and execute strategies for attracting, hiring, and retaining top talent
- Oversee the development of job descriptions, interview processes, and onboarding experiences that support a positive candidate experience
- Design and facilitate management development training sessions
- Track the effectiveness of training programs and implement improvements as necessary
- Write and manage all internal communications related to HR initiatives, such as policy updates, new procedures, and employee engagement programs
- Maintain and report on key HR metrics to support business decisions
- Proactively working with business leaders and key internal and external stakeholders to understand their requirements that help inform recommendations for change.
Key skills/ experience:
- Relevant experience in team management, employee relations, recruitment and HR system administration
- Knowledge of Cascade (or similar HR systems) and experience in system administration
- Strong understanding of employment laws and compliance requirements
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a team
- Ability to deliver engaging and effective management training programs
- A commitment to understanding and delivering against business and stakeholder needs
- Experience in working with projects and implementing new initiatives
- Strong IT skills, particularly in the use of MS Excel and Office products.
